The International Division at AIA is responsible for promoting domestic and international policies and practices that help American companies compete in the global marketplace and cooperate with our allies and foreign partners.
With both defined and undefined barriers that can limit business growth, AIA's International Council works to promote free and fair trade for U.S. aerospace and national security products as a means to enhance national and economic security. This helps maintain the vitality of the aerospace and national security industrial base and workforce.
London — Five students from Odle Middle School in Bellevue, Washington, took first place in the International Rocketry Challenge at the 2016 Farnborough International Airshow on July 15. The U.S. team, sponsored by the Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN), bested teams from the United Kingdom, France and Japan. This is the second straight year a team from the United States claimed the international title.
FARNBOROUGH, England (July 12, 2016) – Today at the 2016 Farnborough International Airshow (FIA), the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) announced plans to host its Supplier Management Council conference in Indianapolis in the spring of 2018. Presented in partnership with Rolls-Royce and the state of Indiana, the conference will attract industry leaders and showcase Indiana’s growing aerospace and aviation industry.
The U.S. Aerospace & Defense industry generated a record $142 billion worth of exports in 2015, which is an increase of 62% over the past five years. Exports of supply chain products, specifically civil and military engines and parts, accounted for 58% or $78 billion of total U.S. A&D exports in 2014.
Arlington, Va. — The Aerospace Industries Association participated in a meeting today with the Trump campaign to brief Mr. Trump on issues of importance to our industry. As the Voice of American Aerospace and Defense, AIA’s role is to educate our elected leaders, candidates for office and the general public on the importance of our industry to our economy and national security. AIA has also been in contact with the Clinton campaign regarding a similar opportunity to brief Secretary Clinton.
