Christopher CarnahanAssistant Vice President, Standards

Chris Carnahan serves as Assistant Vice President for Standards at the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA). In this role, he leads AIA’s National Aerospace Standards program, overseeing the standards development efforts of all AIA councils, committees, and working groups. Additionally, he supports international standards development through participation in two ISO committees.

Before joining AIA in 2009, Carnahan was the Manager of Standards Operations for the Compressed Gas Association, a trade association in the DC area that develops safety standards for the compressed gas and medical gas industry.

Carnahan holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Mary Washington and a master’s degree in public administration from George Mason University.
