Arlington, Va. (Dec. 16, 2021) – Today, The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning released the following statement on the bipartisan passage of S. 1605, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2022 in the U.S. Senate:
“The FY22 NDAA is a major victory for our national security and our defense industrial base, which includes our more than 2 million employees. The bill includes important reforms to the acquisition process, increased funding for the Department of Defense, and the reauthorization of the State Department — a feat that hasn’t been accomplished in two decades. By passing with strong bipartisan support, the FY22 NDAA sends a clear message to our adversaries and allies that national security remains a top priority for our nation. Given the length and severity of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is now more important than ever for our industry to have stable and sustained funding.”
