Arlington, Va. — The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) is expanding its National Security Policy team, hiring David Turkovic to serve in a newly created position as Director for Industrial Policy. In this role, Turkovic will help shape advocacy and outreach on AIA priorities, including supply chain health and resilience, assured access to materials and resources, and investment in advanced technologies.
“America’s national security depends on a strong defense industrial base and healthy, resilient, and secure supply chains,” said AIA President and CEO Eric Fanning. “David’s breadth of experience will bring renewed energy and focus to our team’s critical advocacy efforts to move our industry forward.”
Turkovic joins AIA from the Department of Defense (DOD), where he served as Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs. In this role, he led DOD’s legislative outreach on several critical issues, such as microelectronics, hypersonic weapons, artificial intelligence, unmanned systems, and other advanced capabilities. Previously, Turkovic was Special Assistant for Legislative Affairs to the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations, Energy and Environment and worked as a director of government relations for Quasar Energy Group, a renewable energy firm.
