Arlington, Va. (Dec. 8, 2022) – Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning today praised House passage of the Senate amendment to H.R. 7776, the James M. Inhofe National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2023.

“The aerospace and defense industry – along with the 2.1 million Americans who make up its workforce – are one of our military’s most important partners, and this year’s National Defense Authorization Act strengthens that partnership. The broad support for strong investment in our national security sends an unequivocal message to our allies and adversaries alike: America’s defense and deterrence remains a top priority. The NDAA backs up this investment with meaningful policy that will enable the Department of Defense and industry to move faster to support our allies and partners, including Ukraine and Taiwan, and to bolster our own security.

“We urge the Senate to pass this legislation as quickly as possible. Similarly, we urge Congress to follow through on the tenets of this bill and provide stable, sustained funding for the Department of Defense and the rest of the federal government.”

Among other priorities, AIA advocated for contract flexibility that will allow the Pentagon to work with industry to mitigate the effects of inflation.
