Arlington, Va. (Feb. 7, 2023) – The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning today issues the following statement ahead of President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address:
“Our industry is one of the nation’s most enduring assets and one of the Administration’s most important partners, especially as tensions with China grow and the war in Ukraine continues. At a time when the world is more dangerous than ever, the 2.1 million unsung heroes of the U.S. aerospace and defense industry are a key part of America’s asymmetric advantage over our adversaries and our ability to deter war. For over 100 years, these men and women have given back to our country by supporting our national security and economic successes. Our industry hopes tonight’s address provides a clear vision for the Administration’s priorities and presents opportunities for strengthened partnership.
“Our industry stands ready to work with the Administration on policies that elevate U.S. global leadership in aerospace; support national security through adequate, stable, and predictable funding; advance the innovative technologies that will power the return to the moon and achieve a more sustainable aviation future; and deter our adversaries.”
