Recent global challenges, including the conflict in Ukraine, growing tensions in the Indo-Pacific, and the COVID-19 pandemic, have highlighted serious and longstanding vulnerabilities in the supply chain — the effects of which are reverberating throughout industry and beyond. The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) has developed its first-ever agenda to strengthen and secure the global supply chains on which America’s aerospace and defense industries rely. The recommendations are designed to improve how the U.S. government approaches, regulates, and leverages global supply chains to best support U.S. national security and economic objectives. AIA’s agenda takes a comprehensive approach across industry, government, academia, and other key stakeholders to address these vulnerabilities, support and strengthen domestic production and competitiveness, and where possible, invest in allies and partners to build flexible and secure supply chains.
