Arlington, Va. (Sept. 30, 2023) – Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning today made the following statement after Congress passed a continuing resolution that funds the federal government until November 17:
“The Aerospace Industries Association is relieved that Congress has acted to prevent a harmful and unnecessary government shutdown. While a continuing resolution doesn’t provide the certainty the defense industrial base needs, it is far preferable to shutting down the government.
“We also appreciate the inclusion of a short-term extension of authorizations for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which will avoid additional stress on the FAA’s workforce and operations.
“We thank Congress for doing their job, but their work is far from over. AIA will continue to work closely with policymakers to ensure final legislation adequately funds key national security, aviation, and space exploration programs, provides critical support for Ukraine, and addresses record inflation.”
