Arlington, Va. (Jan. 8, 2024) – Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning today commended Congress for the forward momentum on FY24 government funding:
“As we welcome Congress back to Washington, the aerospace and defense industry remains one of the U.S. government’s most important partners,” Fanning said. “Last session, Congress took important steps towards reaching long-term solutions on critical policy and funding priorities, but there is still more work to be done – starting first with funding the government for the balance of the 2024 fiscal year.
“Yesterday’s announcement of a topline budget agreement is positive momentum. Now, Congress must iron out the details to secure adequate year-long funding for the Department of Defense, Federal Aviation Administration, NASA, and other key federal agencies. AIA and our members stand ready to work with both Congress and the Administration to help guarantee a strong national defense and ensure American leadership in aerospace and innovation.”
