Arlington, Va. – Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning today released the following statement on the House Appropriations Committee’s draft defense funding bill for fiscal year 2025:

“The Aerospace Industries Association thanks Chairman Cole, Ranking Member DeLauro, Subcommittee Chairman Calvert, Subcommittee Ranking Member McCollum, and the House Appropriations Committee for prioritizing national security and working toward the on-time enactment of appropriations for the Department of Defense,” Fanning said.

“A resilient defense industrial base that can produce at scale over time is an important element of our national defense strategy. Building and sustaining that base requires sufficient and dependable funding that keeps pace with inflationary pressures and bolsters our ability to deter our adversaries. This bill is an important first step, but amid current economic circumstances and with the demands currently made of industry, we hope to see bipartisan support for a stronger topline as this bill continues to move through the process.”
