Arlington, Va. – Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning released the following statement on the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s (NATO) new defense industrial pledge announced earlier this evening:
“We welcome this pledge as a commitment by the Alliance to invest in the Transatlantic industrial base, which will provide the capabilities critical to peace and security among the NATO members and beyond. The tenets of this pledge completely align with AIA’s recent recommendations to focus on harmonizing priorities and metrics, accelerate procurement, enhance interoperability, and boost production capacity. We thank the Alliance for acknowledging the close partnership between NATO and the industrial base and for emphasizing industry’s vital role in maintaining deterrence and protecting global stability.”
