Heather Bulk is the Chief Executive Officer, as well as co-founder, of Special Aerospace Services (SAS).
Since 2007, Bulk has overseen the strategic direction and business performance of these companies along with the Who Dreams Wins Foundation non-profit, focusing on strategy, leadership, and impact for all entities.
Co-founded in 2007 by Bulk, SAS is a high-end space engineering, defense, and communications technology company designed to serve the critical needs of U.S. Defense and Intelligence Agencies, as well as commercial space clients. SAS has over 250 employees with a footprint in Colorado, Alabama, California, Virginia, Florida, and Texas.
Prior to her leadership at SAS, she spent over 17 years as a senior executive in financial and estate planning, serving some of the country’s most affluent families and business owners. She completed her Executive Juris Doctorate in 2007 and holds a Masters in Taxation (LLM) from the University of Denver Law School, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from CSU, Chico. She also maintains her Certified Financial Planner designation and was recently named to Inc.’s 2024 Female Founders 250 list and the Forbes 50 over 50 list.
Bulk actively champions diversity in the SAS workforce, believing a broad range of experiences and perspectives are critical to solving the most complex challenges in the space and defense industries. As a leader in the business community, she engages on boards and think tanks to develop paths that bring new talent to the aerospace industry. Additionally, Bulk is the co-founder of the Who Dreams Wins Foundation, which fosters STEM education and provides scholarships and technology to those in need.
Bulk has been an accomplished pilot for over 20 years and is a member of the Pilatus Owners and Pilots Association and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). She also flies missions for philanthropic organizations that include Angel Flight and Veterans Airlift Command.
