AIA POSITION STATEMENTLook Toward the Future

Modernizing trade relationships and promoting economic security helps protect the aviation industry’s access to critical markets and international supply chains, while also spurring innovation and enabling leaps forward in new technology, sustainability, and efficiency. Profitable trade and secure chains of supply will lay the groundwork for the continued success and safety of the aviation industry and the flying public.

Take Action Now

In order to maintain the health and longevity of the aerospace and defense industry, the United States must continue to invest in our domestic supply chain for critical and raw materials while also preserving access to the global supply chain. The ability for our manufacturers to get the materials they need is paramount to national security and commercial flight. Regulators and industry must continue to work collaboratively to ensure the economic and environmental sustainability of our supply chains by safely expanding into global markets without compromising the integrity of our domestic workforce and intellectual property.

AIA’s Role

AIA works to bolster its International Council initiatives and activities to ensure access to foreign markets on an equitable basis for international sales, trade, and supply chain opportunities in civil aviation. AIA identifies issues impacting trade and supply chain in civil aerospace and provides input to our International Council, through the Commercial Trade Committee and the Supplier Management Council.
