Leonard Ross, former vice chairman of the AIA Product Support Committee established the exceptional service award program in 1989 to honor past and present members of the committee. Upon his passing, the award was renamed to honor him and is earned solely through peer recognition of long-term achievements to a member of an AIA organization. Shook is the 16th recipient of the award.
