Arlington, Va. – Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning today commended Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy today for his prompt and decisive efforts to modernize the National Airspace System (NAS).
“On behalf of the Aerospace Industries Association’s nearly 300 members, we applaud Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy for quickly acknowledging the urgent need for a state-of-the-art National Airspace System (NAS),” Fanning said. “While the United States can point with pride to the fact that it safely manages the largest and most complex airspace in the world, it has become clear that outdated and cumbersome acquisition policies, inconsistent funding, and other factors have severely impacted the FAA’s progress in modernizing the NAS. U.S. aerospace manufacturers are committed to working with the Trump Administration, Secretary Duffy, FAA, and all aviation stakeholders to reinvigorate air traffic control modernization to ensure that American leadership in aerospace will never be questioned.”
