Arlington, Va. – Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning today released the following statement after the United States Senate Committee on Appropriations advanced the Fiscal Year 2025 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development and Related Agencies funding bill:
“We commend the Senate Appropriations Committee for its decisive support for Fiscal Year 2025 Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development, and Related Agencies funding bill,” said Fanning. “This legislation is critical in maintaining our nation’s role as the gold standard in aviation and advancing progress in areas such as operations, facilities, and equipment.
“We commend the committee for providing the FAA with a 10 percent increase over Fiscal Year 2024 – matching the President’s budget request for Fiscal Year 2025 – which will fund more air traffic controllers and safety inspectors. We thank Chair Murray and Vice Chair Collins, as well as Subcommittee Chair Schatz and Ranking Member Hyde-Smith, for their leadership. We look forward to seeing this bill on the Senate floor soon.”
