Arlington, Va. — Today, Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning released the following statement on the passage of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 in the U.S. House of Representatives:
“Nearly a year into the COVID-19 crisis, the challenges facing the American people and economy have not ceased. The need for additional aid is clear, and this bill provides the certainty families, workers, and businesses need to persevere.
“This bill also establishes a payroll support program that will save or restore the jobs of tens of thousands of skilled aerospace workers who continue to support our national and economic security through the crisis. We urge the Senate to swiftly pass this legislation and deliver the aid to help our industry jumpstart the nation’s recovery.”
