Arlington, Va. — Today, Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning released the following statement in response to congressional certification of the presidential election and the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol building:
“We applaud Congress for its determination to keep our nation’s constitutional process on track in spite of the violent attempts to derail this important work. We congratulate President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris on congressional certification of their election.
“We condemn—in the strongest terms—yesterday’s violence and those who incite such violence. Ensuring the peaceful transition of power is a hallmark of our democracy. We must remain committed to this as a nation.
“We must now unite to confront our most pressing challenges. As we move forward together, the aerospace and defense industry remains committed to supporting our country.”
