Arlington, Va. – The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA), the leading voice representing the American aerospace and defense industry, today announced that Alison Lynn, currently Vice President of Communications, has been promoted to Senior Vice President of External Affairs, effective immediately.
“From day one, Alison has been a standout, taking AIA’s advocacy and outreach to the next level,” Eric Fanning, AIA President and CEO, said. “Her innovative, strategic thinking consistently benefits our members, industry, and government partners. She has more than earned this promotion, and I look forward to seeing how she continues to elevate our organization.”
In her new role, Lynn will play an integral role in overseeing the external-facing outreach functions of the organization. In addition to overseeing AIA’s supply chain advocacy and events functions, she will continue to serve as the organization’s top communications adviser, strategist, and spokesperson.
Lynn has served as AIA’s Vice President of Communications since 2019, when she joined the organization after a tenure as Senior Director of Product Communications at the American Chemistry Council. She has over 25 years of experience, including on the House Armed Services Committee for then-chairman Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-Texas).
