Arlington, Va. (Dec. 15, 2022) – Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning today issued the following statement after the Senate overwhelmingly passed the James M. Inhofe National Defense Authorization Act of Fiscal Year 2023:
“As long as our industrial base remains a key part of our asymmetric advantage, our country’s ability to deter war will be that much stronger. The U.S. military is the best in the world because we have the best warfighters equipped with the best equipment and the best capabilities, furnished in large part by the American aerospace and defense industry. Strengthening the defense industrial base will strengthen America’s national security, and this year’s National Defense Authorization Act is a step in the right direction.
“With broad bipartisan, bicameral support, the bill authorizes strong investment in our national defense. It also includes much-needed policies that will empower the Department of Defense and its industry partners to move faster to shore up our own security while supporting our allies and partners like Ukraine and Taiwan. We look forward to seeing President Biden sign it into law soon.”
