Arlington, Va. – Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning today reacted to Senate Armed Services Committee Ranking Member Roger Wicker’s newly released proposal and accompanying legislation, the FORGED Act, that will streamline the Department of Defense’s acquisition system by removing cumbersome regulations to unleash industry innovation.
“As the voice of the American aerospace and defense industry, we welcome Senator Wicker’s continued focus on strengthening the defense industrial base and reforming defense acquisition,” Fanning said. “Senator Wicker’s proposal, along with the Department of Government Efficiency, offers a real opportunity to unleash innovation and get new weapons and equipment to the warfighter faster.
