Arlington, Va. – Today, the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) released the AI Flight Plan, a first-of-its-kind document outlining comprehensive best practices for the governance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) use for aerospace.

“Advanced technology has always been the driving force behind the aerospace industry, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) represents its latest frontier,” said Tim White, AIA’s Vice President of Engineering and Technology. “As AI’s influence grows across the product lifecycle and business operations, it promises groundbreaking innovations and efficiencies. We appreciate our industry partners for their collaboration on this framework.”

Crafted by experts from across AIA’s membership, the AI Flight Plan outlines the elements of an AI governance program tailored specifically for this high-stakes industry, targeting the three primary usages of AI in aerospace: enhancing business operations, aiding in systems design and development processes, and integration into delivered products, software, and services.
