Jason Timm Senior Director, Security & Enterprise Management
Jason Timm is the Senior Director of Security and Enterprise Management at the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA). He supports multiple leadership positions within AIA including the SVP for Operations, SVP for Policy, and the VP for National Security Policy. His roles include being responsible for cross-divisional efforts and corporate actions with regards to security and enterprise management, assisting in developing AIA’s national security agenda, and for planning and executing advocacy efforts to support it. Specific work includes office operations and security, AIA cyber and physical defense, cyber security policy, industrial security policy, and assisting with AIA efforts at international air shows.
Timm joined AIA in 2015, after a 22-year career in the United States Air Force. While on active duty, he held multiple positions within the acquisition enterprise. He has extensive experience in conventional and rapid acquisition, engineering, and flight test functions on a range of programs, from cruise missiles and reconnaissance systems to space systems and special projects aircraft.
Timm served on the Air Staff from 2004 to 2008, where he was responsible for budgeting, analysis, and acquisition program reporting for major defense acquisition programs. From 2008 to 2011, Timm supported the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter as the Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) Program Manager delivering the first production F-35 in May 2011 and planning future LRIP lots for domestic, international, and foreign military sales customers. Timm’s last active duty assignment was teaching Level II and III Program Management courses at the Defense Acquisition University, from 2011 to 2015.
After his retirement, Timm provided contractor support to the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition (SAF/AQ) in the Office of Transformational Innovation, where he assisted in soliciting, advocating, and executing innovative concepts with the potential for broad ranging and rapid improvements to Air Force acquisition systems and processes.
Timm is Level III certified in Program Management and Test & Evaluation, and Level I in Acquisition Logistics. He holds an MBA from Oklahoma City University and a B.S. in Mathematics from Colorado State University.
