Kayla RennerManager, Legislative Affairs
Kayla Renner is the Manager of Legislative Affairs at the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA). In this role, she partners with the leadership team and AIA members to develop and execute AIA’s legislative strategy and advocate for these positions before Congress. Additionally, she assists in preparing AIA’s positions and strategic advocacy on legislation related to civil, commercial, and national security space.
Before joining AIA, Renner served as a government intern for the Department of Commerce and a marketing intern for the French industrial supplier Aëxor, where she gained experience in international trade and foreign procurement. She also worked as a legislative fellow for the consulting firm Monument Advocacy and as a public policy intern for New York Assemblyman Brian Barnwell. In these roles, she drafted policy and conducted congressional advocacy, acquiring extensive knowledge of the federal legislative process. Most recently, Renner worked in government affairs for the private rocket launch company Virgin Orbit, where she assisted with civil and defense appropriations and represented the company’s space initiatives before Congress.
Renner graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in French. She earned a Master of Arts in International Affairs from George Washington University, focusing on U.S. foreign policy and international security.
