Remy Nathan is the Senior Vice President for Policy at the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA), where he leads the International Affairs division. He works closely with AIA leadership and across divisions to develop, integrate, and execute cross-division and enterprise-level activities and initiatives.
Nathan is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and recommending industry actions on trade-related issues affecting international commercial and military aerospace markets. This includes areas such as export controls, export financing, and current and potential trade barriers in key markets. During his tenure at AIA, he has organized and executed several successful advocacy campaigns, resulting in significant improvements to the U.S. export control system. He has also launched an ongoing global industry ethics initiative, the International Forum on Business Ethical Conduct (IFBEC), and worked to preserve a level playing field and market access for industry imports and exports.
Before joining AIA in 2003, Nathan supported U.S. companies active in Malaysia and worked with the Defense Working Group of the US-ASEAN Business Council.
Nathan holds a bachelor’s degree in Government and Foreign Affairs with a focus on China Studies from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in International Economics and Southeast Asian Studies from The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
