Sophia MedinaCoordinator, Communications & Legislative Affairs

Sophia Medina is the Coordinator for Communications & Legislative Affairs at the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA), working with the communications and legislative teams in support of AIA’s advocacy and outreach priorities. 

Before joining AIA, Medina served as a Staff Assistant for Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson, where she managed constituent services and communications and supported the legislation team in policy research. She previously worked as an Intern at Airlines for America, the trade association for the leading US passenger and cargo carriers. There, she supported the legislation and regulatory policy team, working on projects ranging from FAA reauthorization, regulatory docket review, and air traffic management research.

A native of the Chicago suburbs, Medina graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee in 2024 with a B.A. in political science and international affairs.
